TODAY'S LEARNING
8 Attitudes Of Mindfulness

  1. Volition or intention is the foundation that supports all of the other attitudes. What puts you on the mindful path to gradually transform your worry and achieve more ease, freedom, and serenity within yourself is your intention, will, or volition. By approaching worry with intention, you are strengthening your belief in your own completeness, ability, and resourcefulness.

  2. Beginner’s mind is an aspect of mind that’s open to seeing from a fresh perspective. Taking on anxiety in this manner, with inquiry, can really help to change your experience. Embracing a different perspective opens up fresh alternatives that can assist you in overcoming recurring worried thoughts and emotions.

  3. Patience is a quality that supports perseverance and fortitude when feelings of anxiety are challenging. A wider view is provided by patience, which enables you to realize that worrisome moments will eventually pass.

  4. Acknowledgment is the quality of meeting your experience as it is. For instance, you encounter anxiety and your experience of it as they are rather than attempting to accept or be at peace with them. Even when you practice patience and recognize worry as your current weather system, you can acknowledge its presence and how much you dislike it, knowing that it will pass.

  5. Nonjudgment means experiencing the present moment without the filters of evaluation. It's all too simple to add a second layer of judgment to the already uneasy worried feelings when one is experiencing anxiety. It is possible to view things more clearly when you let go of your judgmental mindset. Many sources of anxiety just go away as you let go of evaluations. Taking a nonjudgmental attitude will help you refocus and bring your thoughts back into balance when you're feeling anxious.

  6. Nonstriving is the quality of being willing to meet any experience as it is, without trying to change it. You learn the value of accepting things as they are and accepting your experience without rejecting or clinging to what is in it when you practice nonstriving. (Note that nonstriving is related to your experiences in the present moment while meditation and does not diminish the need of making a thoughtful goal to develop, learn, and transform your relationship with anxiety.) When faced with intense fear, the first instinct is frequently to run away or leave the area. You can better understand your experience and make an informed decision about how to respond if you can take a moment to just be with it without trying to push against it. You can also learn to feel less afraid of the ideas, feelings, and bodily manifestations of anxiety.

  7. Self-reliance is an important quality for developing inner confidence. You can learn to trust your abilities to face your anxiety or any other uncomfortable feeling by practicing. It's crucial to use additional mindfulness practices, such as accepting, acknowledging, and letting go of the feelings, when you shift your attention toward them.

  8. Letting be or allowing is similar to nonstriving. It's a characteristic that makes room for whatever comes up at that precise instant. For instance, you could decide to deal with anxiety by accepting it when it arises during meditation. As with a storm in the sky, you can eventually learn to ride a wave of fear until it passes.

A report from 9News claims that Colorado used 1.5 billion fewer plastic or paper shopping bags since the implementation of the Plastic Pollution Reduction Act of 2021 that entered into force at the beginning of last year.

The 10-cent charge amounted to $5 million in revenue for the state, which was spent on a variety of programs including the free distribution of durable reusable shopping bags and educational resources for community groups.
