TODAY'S LEARNING
Ritual To Remove Limiting Beliefs
With the intention of liberation, make a list in your journal of all the limiting beliefs you’ve inherited along your path—any belief that holds you back from living out your wildest, most abundant dreams and loving truth. Any belief that implies you are unworthy or inadequate—especially those that start with the phrases "I shouldn't" or "I can't"—is a limiting belief, whether it was something you told yourself or something you were told. You will continually revisit these ideas as part of your healing ritual practice to identify the locations of your mental energy blocks. Among the instances are:
“I believe I am unworthy of love or success, because I wasn’t accepted for who I am by my parents.”
“I believe I am not beautiful, because I don’t match the idea of beauty portrayed and celebrated in the media and society.”
“I believe I have to do everything on my own, because I couldn’t trust anyone to help me as a child.”
“I believe in facts and evidence, because it is the only way my knowledge and opinions will be valued and taken seriously.”
“I believe I am not valuable and cannot achieve my dreams, because it has never been done before by a person like me.”
When you write out your limiting beliefs in a journal, you could experience certain emotions. Permit every feeling to leave your body and vanish.
Next, based on any surfacing specific recollections, determine the age at which you inherited these views. Jot down certain memories that you feel helped shape these ideas. To give a personal example, when I was younger, my mother playfully told me that I would never get married or find someone to love. This limiting thought caused me to believe that I would never find love and be in a committed relationship until I was able to overcome it. We are not aware of the nuances in vocabulary and tone while we are young. Rather, we perceive the world through extremes. Even if someone is not being serious when they tell us, "you can't do that," we take it personally and store that belief in the place where our scars reside.
Visualize that version of yourself and give them the love and support they need to believe in what is true in their hearts—a hug, a healing talk, encouragement, acceptance, and comfort. Perhaps they only need to sing, or perhaps they need to be reminded that life is joyful via play. Play your favorite music, eat your favorite food from that era, get in touch with your best buddy from then, go back and do your favorite hobbies, or just tell yourself what you needed to hear when you were that age. Providing the love and support these versions of yourself that are clinging to outdated and restrictive beliefs need helps to heal the scars that remain.
This is a beautiful ritual practice to free ourselves. This is a useful technique for me anytime a wound reopens, something triggers me, or I'm feeling irritated about something I want. Every time a limiting idea arises that prevents you from following your path or from connecting with your inner essence of holy love, repeat this practice.
If love and intention are the fuel of ritual, beliefs are the wheel. They dictate where your sacred ship is heading in your practice. To have direction toward the love that is leading you home, your ritual practice depends on your beliefs growing. With only this exercise, everything in our world has the potential to alter. In order to live a life full of love, grace, purpose, and liberation from all that holds us back, we must liberate ourselves to think that everything is possible.

TODAY'S POSITIVE NEWS
A global agreement to protect a third of the world’s oceans was hailed as “historic” last September, when 84 nations signed up.
Now Chile – a major advocate of the agreement – is set to become the first country to ratify it, after politicians agreed to do so this week. It piles pressure on other nations to make good on their promises.
Dr Laura Meller, who leads Greenpeace’s Protect the Oceans campaign, said: “We hope more countries will be inspired by Chile’s rapid ratification and follow their lead to bring the treaty to life, so the real work to protect the oceans can start.”
ZEN STORY
FLOW LIKE A RIVER
There is the story of a young martial arts student who was under the tutelage of a famous master.
One day, the master was watching a practice session in the courtyard. He realized that the presence of the other students was interfering with the young man’s attempts to perfect his technique.
The master could sense the young man’s frustration. He went up to the young man and tapped him on his shoulder.
“What’s the problem?” he inquired.
“I don’t know”, said the youth, with a strained expression.
“No matter how much I try, I am unable to execute the moves properly”.
“Before you can master technique, you must understand harmony. Come with me, I will explain”, replied the master.
The teacher and student left the building and walked some distance into the woods until they came upon a stream. The master stood silently on the bank for several moments. Then he spoke.
“Look at the stream,” he said. “There are rocks in its way. Does it slam into them out of frustration? It simply flows over and around them and moves on! Be like the water and you will know what harmony is.”
The young man took the master’s advice to heart. Soon, he was barely noticing the other students around him. Nothing could come in his way of executing the most perfect moves.

These eight steps, commonly known as the 8 limbs of yoga, basically act as guidelines on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. They serve as a prescription for moral and ethical conduct and self-discipline; they direct attention toward one’s health; and they help us to acknowledge the spiritual aspects of our nature.

Pyramid Pose (Parsvottanasana)
What is Pyramid Pose?
Pyramid pose, or parsvottanasana in Sanskrit, is a deep standing forward bend. With one foot a few feet behind the other, and the palms pressed in prayer behind the back, the practitioner folds forward. The pose develops both flexibility and balance.
Instructions
Begin in mountain.
Exhale and step the right foot 2 to 3 feet back. Point the toes about 40 degrees to the right. The heels should be in one line.
Inhale and bring the palms into reverse prayer behind the back.
Exhale and fold forward, drawing the head toward the shin.
Breathe while holding the pose. Inhale and rise. Exhale and step back to mountain. Change sides.
