Boost Your Joy

Joy is a natural part of each of us. It originates from our very souls, deep below. Joy is an intrinsic aspect of who we are, in contrast to happiness, which is frequently situational or emotionally driven. I know, I know, some of you won’t believe what I’m saying here, but it’s true: Joy is part of who you are. It’s there, inside each of us, always. It’s just that life covers it up, so we can’t feel it. Consider happiness to be the sun, and life's stresses to be the clouds and storms. Joy, like the sun, is always there; the trick is to dig beneath the cloudiness and uncover it.

How do we find and feel more joy? Here are a few ideas to get us started.

1) Be mindful of how your body feels. Getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, exercising, and taking breaks are all vital for maintaining physical health and strength. For example, joy will surely feel more hazy when you're really fatigued. You must prioritize taking care of your body if you want to experience greater joy in your life.

2) Practice mindfulness. Being mindful entails being present in the moment and observing life as it unfolds. Inhale deeply and scan your surroundings. Experience your reality through all of your senses. See and seek for the positive. Breathe through the bad and feel the wonderful. Joy increases when we keep our attention on the here and now, the beauty all around us, and the love that is ours to claim.

3) Cultivate healthy relationships. Since we are social creatures, having happy connections is essential to having a happy existence. While it's true that our relationships should make us feel "happy," the real benefit of healthy relationships is that they provide us joy. "Healthy" relationships are those that are built on unconditional love and allow each individual to be who they truly are. partnerships that are uplifting, tolerant, and sincere. A healthy relationship can also be defined by the definition of love, which is "the ability and willingness to allow those that you care about to be what they choose for themselves, without any insistence that they satisfy you."

4) Serve. Eliminating our personal "problems" and "feelings" is one of the most reliable methods to boost happiness. Give your time to a cause that you firmly believe in. Make dinner for a friend in need. To give a young mother a break, watch her kids. Or, lend a listening ear to someone in need. Joy can radiate from within you even if all you do is smile at everyone you meet or assist a stranger with their shopping.

5) Choose to grow. When things are difficult, focus on the chance for improvement rather than how "bad" things are. Throughout the day, try to replace any negative ideas with the idea that everything is a teaching opportunity. You will be able to access and experience moments of joy even in the most trying circumstances if you can view them through the lens of "growth." This will help you get through your difficult times more easily and ultimately boost your joy.
