TODAY'S LEARNING
Chakra Food - Create a Balancing Chakra Salad

I want you to look at the recipe with an open mind and heart and have fun trying out food combinations you would never have thought of. The trick is to mix things that are different colors so that your salad has the most vitamins and minerals possible.

1st chakra

I picked carrots, red beets, and radishes. The muladhara, our root chakra, is represented by the color red and also orange as it flows to the second sacral chakra. Root vegetables like jicama, daikon, and bulbs like onions and garlic can also be used in salads. Beans and peanuts, which are both high in protein, are also 1st chakra foods.

2nd chakra

I added almond slivers and pomegranate seeds, which represent fertility in the sacral chakra. If you want to make the salad sweeter, you can use melons or mangos or any other sweet orange fruit.

3rd chakra

I used sunflower seeds, quinoa, and fresh fennel, which are all great for the third chakra. Fennel helps your body digest food, quinoa gives you energy, and of course, the sunflower is the perfect hero to offer its seeds to the solar plexus. If you don't like quinoa, try buckwheat groats for something different. Spelt grain goes well in salads, too.

4th chakra

For the heart chakra, or anahata, I love raw cabbage and oregano. This chakra's color is green, and celery and other cruciferous green vegetables are good choices. Basil, cilantro, and parsley are some other herbs that are good for you.

5th chakra

The most important thing for the throat chakra is a good salad dressing, because our throats like things that are saucy. I mixed tahini (sesame butter), olive oil, lemon and Himalayan salt. Those who eat dairy will also like yogurt dressing. If you want to add more fruit, slice some apples and pears and put them in.

6th chakra

I chose my favorite red-leaf lettuce and red radicchio because violet is the color of the third eye chakra. Dried purple fruits, like raisins and/or cranberries, can also open this chakra.

7th chakra

Usually a place without food that is associated with fasting and pure joy (don't forget this ingredient when making any meal), I chose to add Belgian endive to the dish to make it complete. It looks like the petals of a lotus flower, which makes it a tasty, pretty, and useful addition to the kundalini salad.

 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY

As Venus and Uranus tug and push against one another to start the week, we are forced to consider any internal conflict that may be going on. The full Moon in Capricorn gives freedom and regeneration as the days go on.

The conjunction of Venus and Uranus on July 2 serves as a kind of cracking open of what we might be called to further consider, reflect upon, and evaluate during the backward motion that will soon greet us as Venus moves toward the beginning of her retrograde at the end of July.

The July 3 full Moon invites you to go within so that you can learn more about the environment outside. It is a call to lean into the practical intellect, discipline, structure, and long-term objectives just as much as it is a call to sink into your body, explore your feelings, and nourish your heart.

The invitation to feel anything you may feel, even if it conflicts with who you believe you should be, what you believe you should experience, or how you believe you should spend your life, is present with your experience and grace.

POSITIVE NEWS OF THE DAY

Years of advocacy are paying off, according to a recent report, which states that over 100 million hectares (254 million acres) of territory have been returned to Indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples and local communities during the past five years in 39 different nations.

According to a partnership of Indigenous rights organizations called the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI), as of the year 2020, these people will possess 11.4% of the world's land. More than an extra 7.2% of resources are recognized as having designation rights, which allow access and usage.

The progress is attributed to Land Rights Now's advocacy work, the Paris Agreement, and the UN's approach for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, which were revealed in the second edition of the RRI's Who Owns the World's Land? study.

With research demonstrating how Indigenous areas prevent deforestation, the "land back" movement is considered as a critical step in the fight against climate change in addition to making historical wrongs right.

CRYSTAL OF THE DAY

TRY IT!

Laughter makes you feel better and reduces stress, according to many studies, so why not include it in your meditation routine? Even just thinking about laughing can make you feel better, and laughing on purpose will help you stay in the present and be joyful. At first, it could feel strange, but after doing it a few times, you should be able to increase your laughter sessions and let go of any shame.

MANTRA OF THE WEEK
Lalitha Sahasranama

Lalitha Sahasranamam is a stotra from the Brahmanda Purana in the Chapter on the dialogue between Hayagreeva and Agasthya. Hayagreeva is Vishnu’s body with a horse head and is believed to be a repository of knowledge. Lalitha Sahasranamam has three parts. The first is called ‘poorva bhaga’ the middle part called ‘stotra’ has 1000 words and the last part is called ‘uttara bhaga’.

The word Lalitha means ‘take it easy’ or ‘play easy’. By singing this we develop mental maturity so that we can take all the difficulties easily and deal with them with renewed energy.
