Chakra Hand Positions: Nadi Yoga

In this practice sit in a comfortable position with your back extended and lifted. You are going to start at the root chakra and work your way up through the chakra system by using the Bija Mantras chart as you place your mudra in front of the chakra you are working on. Do this in repetition as many times as you prefer. Notice how each individual sound is in the connection with the vibrations of that chakra. When you get to the silence stop and feel the internal vibration that still exists within your body.
Chakra mantras are sounds that activate the chakras. Chakra mantras or sonic vibrations have a powerful impact on our body, mind, and spirit. These mantras are said to have powerful healing properties and can be used for focused meditation to assist you to balance and activate your chakras. They are used to support every aspect of your being and can bring peace, harmony, and joy into every area of your life.
“LAM” - Root
Mudra - Thumb & index fingers touch. Arms straight, and hands on the knees.
“VAM” - Sacral
Mudra - Hands on the lap with palms facing upwards, right palm resting on top of left.
“RAM” - Solar Plexus
Mudra - Hands between your heart and stomach. With a 90-degree Namaste pose pointing outward.
“YAM” - Heart
Mudra - Index finger and thumb touched and placed at the heart center. Left hand with the same pose resting on the knee.
“HAM” - Throat
Mudra - Hands near the stomach, fingers intertwined and thumb tips touching each other.
“SHAM” - Third Eye
Mudra - Hands in front of the chest. Middle fingers touch and stand up while other fingers bent at the first joint and touch each other.
“OM” - Crown
Mudra - Hands near the stomach with fingers interlaced but little fingers pointing upwards.

India Approves $7 Billion For 10,000 Electric Buses to Clean Air in 170 Cities…
Last Wednesday, India’s federal government approved nearly $7 billion for a nationwide plan to equip the biggest cities in the country with electric buses.
The plan aims to help cut down on air pollution from vehicle exhaust, a major factor in Indian cities’ poor air quality. It’s also believed that the buses will help lower the total national carbon emissions.
Information Minister Anurag Thakur said at a briefing last week that the scheme will follow private-public collaboration that will also see the requisite charging infrastructure be installed along with the buses.
Demand for electric buses had been growing, and Prime Minister Modi is aggregating this into a centralized plan while inviting companies that make electric buses to bid for government contracts.

Ayurveda Summer Recipes: Cultured Cashew Cheese

'Cultured Cashew Cheese' may sound like a handful, but it's surprisingly simple. With just two main ingredients (plus a pinch of salt and a drop of water!) you can create this creamy, tangy spread. Those who are intimidated by culturing (aka fermenting), foods can rest easy. This vegan friendly option is a perfect starting point for beginners.
The process of culturing occurs when bacteria, such as lactobacilli, feeds on sugar as its energy source creating lactic acid. Culturing the cashews in this way with coconut yogurt preserves the vital nutrients, creates enzymes which aid digestibility and puts those all important probiotics back into your digestive system, creating a blooming gut flora. You'll feel vibrant and well year round.
Ingredients
2 c CASHEWS
2 tbsp COCONUT YOGURT
1/4 tsp SALT (MINERAL SALT)
Instructions
1. Soak cashews overnight.
2. In the morning, drain soak water and rinse cashews. Blend in high powered food processor until completely smooth. You may need to add 1-2tbsp of water.
2. Add yogurt and salt and blend once more to combine, scraping down the sides as needed.
3. Leave to set for 24 hours in a clean air-tight container at room temperature.
