TODAY'S LEARNINGCHAKRA SALAD
I want you to look at the recipe with an open mind and heart and have fun trying out food combinations you would never have thought of. The trick is to mix things that are different colors so that your salad has the most vitamins and minerals possible.
1st chakra
I picked carrots, red beets, and radishes. The muladhara, our root chakra, is represented by the color red and also orange as it flows to the second sacral chakra. Root vegetables like jicama, daikon, and bulbs like onions and garlic can also be used in salads. Beans and peanuts, which are both high in protein, are also 1st chakra foods.
2nd chakra
I added almond slivers and pomegranate seeds, which represent fertility in the sacral chakra. If you want to make the salad sweeter, you can use melons or mangos or any other sweet orange fruit.
3rd chakra
I used sunflower seeds, quinoa, and fresh fennel, which are all great for the third chakra. Fennel helps your body digest food, quinoa gives you energy, and of course, the sunflower is the perfect hero to offer its seeds to the solar plexus. If you don't like quinoa, try buckwheat groats for something different. Spelt grain goes well in salads, too.
4th chakra
For the heart chakra, or anahata, I love raw cabbage and oregano. This chakra's color is green, and celery and other cruciferous green vegetables are good choices. Basil, cilantro, and parsley are some other herbs that are good for you.
5th chakra
The most important thing for the throat chakra is a good salad dressing, because our throats like things that are saucy. I mixed tahini (sesame butter), olive oil, lemon and Himalayan salt. Those who eat dairy will also like yogurt dressing. If you want to add more fruit, slice some apples and pears and put them in.
6th chakra
I chose my favorite red-leaf lettuce and red radicchio because violet is the color of the third eye chakra. Dried purple fruits, like raisins and/or cranberries, can also open this chakra.
7th chakra
Usually a place without food that is associated with fasting and pure joy (don't forget this ingredient when making any meal), I chose to add Belgian endive to the dish to make it complete. It looks like the petals of a lotus flower, which makes it a tasty, pretty, and useful addition to the kundalini salad.

YOGAPEDIADhanurasana (Bow Pose)
Benefits: Strengthens the back and abdominal muscles. Opens up the chest, neck, and shoulders. Alleviates stress and fatigue. How To: Lie on your stomach with your feet apart, in line with your hips, and your arms by the side of your body.
Fold your knees, take your hands backward, and hold your ankles.
Breathe in, lift your chest off the ground, and pull your legs up and towards the back.
Look straight ahead with a smile on your face.
Keep the pose stable while paying attention to your breath. Your body is now curved and as taut as a bow.
Continue to take long, deep breaths as you relax in this pose. But, bend only as far as your body permits you to. Do not overdo the stretch.
After 15 -20 seconds, as you exhale, gently bring your legs and chest to the ground. Release the ankles and relax.
