Cultivate Self Love

Reiki is a form of energy healing that utilizes the Universal Life Force Energy—also called qi, prana, or mana—to bring energies back into alignment.

The wonderful thing about Reiki, and energy healing in general, is that we can all use it because we are all energetic beings. While professional Reiki practitioners are trained and attuned to the process, anyone can access their own Reiki connections.

Because Reiki is based on divine love, several of its practices can aid in the cultivation of self-love. The Gokai (or "laws of conduct") are precepts in Reiki that are all about practicing loving kindness to oneself and others on a daily basis. We advocate saying these Reiki commandments to oneself on a daily basis for a very nourishing Reiki-infused practice of self-love. They are as follows:

Just for today, I will not feel anger.

Just for today, I will not worry.

I appreciate everything and give thanks.

I embody the teachings in action.

I am kind to myself and other beings.

When you need an extra dose of love, make a typical prayer stance with your hands and vigorously rub them together until you feel the heat. Place your palms over your heart or over your eyes once your hands are warm. Take a few long breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, feeling love for yourself, your friends and family, or the entire world.

Visualization is another approach to practicing Reiki for self-love. We recommend sitting, standing, or lying down with your spine long for this technique. Close your eyes and envision a stream of white light energy filled with love flowing from the base of your spine to the crown of your head. Repeat this body scan as many times as you want to feel yourself imbued with loving energy. Take a few deep, grounding breaths when you're ready, then gradually return to your place by wiggling your toes and softly opening your eyes.

🌟 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY

The mystical and daydreaming planet Neptune will change course this week. We shall be given the chance to unite with our dreams, our hopes, and our genuine selves when its retrograde concludes on December 3, 2022.

Neptune, as an archetype, cannot be adequately defined or contained within a box. This energy is frequently said to be what connects us to the oneness experienced in meditation, the transcendental component of movement, the abstract quality of our dreams, and the flow of creativity. It melts boundaries until the line between self and everything that is blurs. It is a planet that transports us to unseen worlds of imagination and energy.

Every planet, sign of the zodiac, or archetype in astrology has both upper and lower octaves. The highest octaves of Neptune are those of love, oneness, creativity, and compassion. It is the flow we experience when creating art, moving our bodies spontaneously, visualizing magnificent possibilities, or witnessing divinity in a child's face.

📰 Positive News Of The Day!

A young man who started a window-washing business has been cleaning road signs for free in his spare time to give back to his community.

Liam Wildish started scrubbing signs in Maidstone, England this year, after launching his new window service—and he’s already become a notable local figure.

“Some of the signs in Maidstone are in terrible condition so when I pass them I pull up and give them a cleanup,” the 25-year-old told SWNS news.

“I like to think it makes a difference to the appearance of the area and hopefully improves road safety during these long winter nights.”

The young man from Nottinghamshire makes himself noticeable, always dressed in a red cap and his bright blue company jacket—and his Facebook posts are inundated with strangers saying they spotted him.

“People wave at me or beep their horns, or comment on my videos to say they saw me out.”

🪷 TIP OF THE DAY

Inspire your practice with a sequence that transitions from Utkatasana (Chair Pose) into Virabhadrasana III (Warrior Pose III) and Revolved High Lunge if you're feeling unmotivated and in need of some energy.

Beginning in Tadasana (Mountain Pose), bend your knees into Chair Pose while keeping your gaze forward. Actively squeeze your hands together as you raise your arms upward, directly in front of your ears. Do 5 rounds of Ujjayi breathing. After that, assume Warrior Pose III by lifting your left leg back and pressing your right foot into the ground while angling your chest forward and inhaling for five cycles.

You can put your hands to your heart or spread your arms out like wings. Last but not least, while retaining your gaze (drishti), step your raised foot far back onto the floor or mat, bend your front knee, and elevate your arms into a high lunge. (For a Revolved Lunge, you can also lean forward, raise your palms to your heart, and twist to the right.) Hold the pose for five breath cycles, then return to Mountain Pose.

On the opposite side, repeat these three poses.

MANTRA OF THE WEEK

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

"May all beings everywhere be happy and free."

This is a beautiful Sanskrit mantra that offers a blessing of compassion and kindness to all beings. Its translation is simple: May all beings everywhere be happy and free. Sometimes called the Lokah Mantra, it is truly an offering of loving-kindness to all beings, animals and humans alike. You may chant or sing this mantra as a prayer for your loved ones, your community, and the entire world, including yourself. This is a commonly chanted mantra in hatha yoga classes and is a simple chant to teach to children.
