TODAY'S LEARNING
Feel More Confident Today

Self worth comes from within, you won’t find it by having more money, having more friends, having a fancy car or a big house. We cannot obtain it extrinsically; hence, we cannot derive our sense of worth from outside sources. The following practices can help you feel more confident in yourself.

There are 28 methods to feel more confident in yourself:

Write down 7 minor goals for the week and tick one off each day as you achieve it.

Each month, read a book. In this day of technology and media, finishing a book is a fantastic way to feel accomplished. Reading a book is in fact an achievement.

Before you go to bed at the end of the day, every day, jot down something you are proud of that happened today or in the past.

Express your gratitude to others; being frank and upfront with others is very beneficial to one's own self-worth.

Refuse! Develop the ability to decline requests without upsetting those making them.

Develop a reputation as someone who takes care in their work in all you do, even if it's something as simple as cleaning the toilets. Do everything to the best of your abilities.

Walk tall and proud. Always walk tall and swiftly, as though you have somewhere to go and it's urgent that you get there.

Whether you're going to an interview, meeting a buddy, or working, you should always dress nicely. Be proud of the way you look.

Do something for yourself every day.

Take up a hobby or acquire a new skill that you've always wanted to do and persevere at it.

Speak up for yourself in all aspects of your life. It may be difficult at first, but the benefits will be enormous, and if you persist, your sense of value and self-esteem will grow.

Sing loudly and enthusiastically, not outside but within the house. I enjoy belting out "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers because it makes me feel happy.

Forgive yourself! (You know what I mean) Get rid of the people who are dragging you down (I don’t mean kill them, I mean just stop having them in your life.)

Focus on your advantages. Many people concentrate on strengthening their areas of weakness; alternatively, concentrate on improving your strengths.

Why not go for a stroll in the rain?………..because you have the power to decide!

Pay attention to what other people have to say.

Give yourself something for your accomplishments. You should treat yourself as soon as you succeed.

Never let anyone force you to break your core values.

Stop the gossiping!

Take a week off from reading newspapers and observe how you feel about the people and things in your life.

Assist others who require assistance.

Remain truthful with both yourself and other people at all times. There is no need for lies and the energy it takes to continue a lie is unbelievable.

Take one chance, and take two chances. Just get up and do it; you don't have much time left.

When you hear yourself criticizing, remember there are two people on either shoulder. Give the person who is criticizing you a slap or a punch in the mouth, and begin to focus on the one who is complimenting you.

Don’t be afraid to accept help from other people, it means they respect you enough to help you with something.

Instead of thinking "I can't do that," start thinking more positively about yourself. declare, "I'll give it a try even though I've never tried it."

Confront your worries. Nothing can boost your self-esteem more than confronting and ultimately overcoming your worries.

TODAY'S POSITIVE NEWS

Full Recovery for Coral Reef Within 4 Years – The Speed of Restoration They Saw was ‘Incredible’

In a truly monumental discovery, scientists studying coral restoration in Indonesia found that artificially restored coral reefs can regrow as fast a naturally occurring reefs just 4 years after the initial transplantation.

With many reefs around the world believed to be threatened by stronger storms and acidic seas, the finding shows that as long as corals can survive in the water, humans can quickly rebuild reefs that are damaged.

The study was conducted at the Mars Coral Reef Restoration Program in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, one of the largest restoration projects in the world, and included an international team of marine biologists. The site was turned from a colorful reef to rubble 30 to 40 years ago from dynamite fishing.

ZEN STORY
IT WILL PASS

A student went to his meditation teacher and said, “My meditation is horrible! I feel so distracted, or my legs ache, or I’m constantly falling asleep. It’s just horrible!”

“It will pass,” the teacher said matter-of-factly.

A week later, the student came back to his teacher. “My meditation is wonderful! I feel so aware, so peaceful, so alive! It’s just wonderful!’

“It will pass,” the teacher replied matter-of-factly.

Revolved Crescent Lunge (Parivrtta anjaneyasana)

What is Revolved Crescent Lunge?

Revolved crescent lunge pose, or parivrtta anjaneyasana, is an intermediate twist done from a low lunge. Like all twists, this pose stimulates the internal organs by bringing a fresh blood supply to the abdomen. It also develops balance and stamina.

Instructions

  • Begin in a low lunge with the left leg back.

  • Bring the hands into prayer.

  • Exhale and twist to the right, bringing the left elbow outside of the right knee. Gaze over the right shoulder.

  • Breathe while holding the pose.

  • Inhale and release. Change sides.

Cautions

Place a blanket or folded mat underneath the back knee if needed.
