Begin With the Breath
Find a comfortable seat for meditation and close your eyes to get started. Feel your breath as it enters and leaves your body. Become fully aware of your breathing. Can you feel the sacred desire of consciousness wanting to express itself through you in your breath? Give this truth some conscious thought. Feel into your breath as a desire to express the longing of pure awareness and pure consciousness expressing itself through your distinct body and mind with each inhalation and exhalation.
Take a moment to consider the desires that have driven your life since you first came into being. Really consider the aspirations that have driven your life. Ask yourself how that makes you feel as you check in.
Feel Into Your Mind's Eye
Now visualize a desire that you have been longing for. Is it to foster artistic success? harmony in a particular partnership? new house? Feel into the desire that is most strong at the time. Do you have any ability to feel its pain? You are moving forward because of a desire that reveals what your true purpose is. Where on your body does it manifest? What kinds of feelings and thoughts go along with this desire? Get deeply in touch with this specific desire. It's revealing something to you about your life's purpose.
Visualize Your Desires
Now imagine this desire being completely fulfilled in your mind's eye. Imagine your desire coming true in front of your eyes. Spend a moment experiencing what it is like to be in this state of fulfillment. When you feel into the realization of this desire, how does your state of being change? Give your body the freedom to experience these sensations fully.
Now consider for a moment if there is something deeper, beyond that desire. Can you identify a desire that is fundamental to who you are? Once you tap into that let it come forth and experience the felt sense of this deepest desire. Immerse yourself once more in the feelings that result from this desire. Imagine that your wish has been granted. How does this sense of fulfillment make you feel physically and mentally? Be mindful of how this particular satisfaction makes you feel.
Go Deeper
Now we delve deeper still. What is the desire that you identify as your own when it is satisfied? What longing do you hold in the deepest part of your heart and soul? What do you most desperately need and want? What sensation do you have? What are people's opinions of it? Consider the sensation of this desire, which you have set as your life's objective. This is the goal you have. Your soul longs for this, and it lies at the heart of all your other aspirations. Every other desire you've ever had has it at its core. Feel as though this goal has been completely and perfectly achieved.
Consider how this goal would appear in the real world. Imagine sustaining your life here. Feel this purpose with every fiber of your being. As you fulfill this purpose, who are you? How are you doing in pursuing this goal? Sit with yourself as this person, who has accomplished their life's mission entirely. You are this. You are what you are.
Rest now and take a few more long, deep breaths and exhales in this position. Open your eyes when you're ready, and then just stay with the sensation that's left.

African church choirs are proving to be a fun, affordable way to combat the loneliness epidemic in English nursing homes.
Music can be a potent social connector, whether it be a lullaby that strengthens the bond between mother and child or the mosh pit's chaotic roar at full throttle. Additionally, could it be a remedy for the epidemic of loneliness in nursing homes?
Dr. Kayonda Hubert Ngamaba, a psychologist, pastor, and refugee, holds this opinion. Bolton's Ephrata Community Church, led by Dr. Ngamaba, serves as a focal point for the African diaspora in the north west of England, particularly Congolese. His medicine is the church choir's eclectic collection of Lingala-sung traditional songs from Africa, English and French hymns, and hypnotic chants. A few local care homes have been receiving a monthly prescription of music, and the results have been heartwarming.
According to Ngamaba, "when the choir started dancing, we saw residents standing up and joining in." The staff was astounded because these residents typically sat in their bedrooms. The feeling of joy was incredible.
