TODAY'S LEARNING
The Healing Touch: Reiki Self-Healing
What is Reiki self-healing, and how can we use it to heal ourselves? Some of the tremendous benefits of Reiki are already known to you if you have been practicing for some time. One of these is the capacity to practice Reiki for self-healing, sometimes referred to as Reiki self-treatment. To fully benefit from Reiki, it's necessary to know the trick to administering successful sessions to yourself.
The secret of doing effective Reiki for self-healing is to do a full Reiki treatment (all of the hand positions, on a consistent basis, over a period of time, e.g. one hour daily), and not just treat the symptom areas, e.g., the painful shoulder or the nagging headache.
Self-Treatment Hand Positions
Hand Position 1. In this position, you are treating your eyes (for any type of eye problem), the sinuses, the nasal cavities, respiratory allergies, the brain, the pituitary gland (which controls metabolism), and the pineal gland (which controls cycles in the body).
Position 2. In this position, you are treating the pulmonary airway, the foodway, the voice box, lymph nodes, the thyroid gland (which is responsible for the metabolism of the body), the parathyroid glands (which control the balance of both calcium and phosphorous) and the throat chakra.
Position 3. This position addresses the upper areas of the lungs, the upper heart area, and the thymus gland, (which is the first gland of the immune system that reacts to stress). The thymus gland drops to 50% of its function when one is under stress. This position also addresses the high-heart chakra. The high-heart chakra, a sub chakra, resides between the throat and heart chakras.
Position 4. In this position, you are treating the heart, the lungs, the breasts and the heart chakra.
Position 5. In position 5 you are treating the stomach, pancreas, spleen, liver, gallbladder, diaphragm, and the solar plexus chakra.
In position 6 you are treating part of the small intestines, transverse colon, and lower-abdominal chakra.
In position 7 you are treating the rest of the small intestines, the ascending colon, the descending colon, sigmoid and rectum. You are also treating the female reproductive system, i.e., uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. The urinary bladder and the male prostate gland are also receiving energy in this position. You are also treating the root chakra.
In position 8 you are treating the hip joint (for any type of hip-related problem), lymph nodes (that contain immune cells), and energy flow to and from the legs (for leg-related problems).

Reiki is the healing therapy created by a Japanese Buddhist named Mikao Usui over a hundred years ago, is based on a simple spiritual principle: we are all guided by the same invisible life force that controls our physical, mental and emotional well-being "being". When the energy flows freely, we can draw on reserves of unknown power. When you come across blockages (often caused by negative thoughts, untreated trauma or stress overload), we operate at a sub-optimal level.
This may seem like voodoo magic to some, even non-believers who have spent an hour with a skilled Reiki master (as they are called) have felt a positive change of some kind. Many describe Reiki sessions as a combination, a light touch of energy over the body as calming or rooted, for others, seems like an emotional realignment.
These books are a comprehensive guide for Reiki students, practitioners and Masters. Learn about Reiki, a universal energy that has been used successfully all over the world to heal emotional, physical and energetic imbalances. With this guide you will have detailed support as you learn how to perform Reiki on yourself and others while exploring detailed information from Reiki Levels I, II and Master. These guides will be helpful for individuals wishing to explore Reiki before taking a formal class. It can also be used as a manual within Reiki courses. WEEKLY ASTROLOGY
A conjunction of the Sun and a planet in the sky is called a cazimi; the term is derived from an Arabic phrase that means "in the heart of the Sun." A cazimi is a moment that brings evolution and renewal to the themes of whichever planet is aligning with the Sun. On October 20, 2023, Mercury steps into the spotlight as it comes into the heart of the Sun.
The Sun is a symbol for our spirit, consciousness, awareness, and sense of self. Mercury represents our minds, mental processing, learning, and perception. Furthermore, the recent solar eclipse—which saw the Sun and Moon aligned in Libra—offers the chance for self-awareness and clarity.
A day after the cazimi and hours after Mercury in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn, the Sun in Libra comes into its own square with the planet of the underworld. As the Sun shifts into the space where Mercury stood hours before, it continues the story of illumination and revelation, holding space and time for deep transformation of our identity.
This week will be filled with revelation, change, rejuvenation, and integration. It's a moment when we're asked to "refresh our browser" in terms of our self-concept and to open ourselves up to perpetual rebirth. This is an opportunity to do so by turning inside and letting more of who we are come to light.
POSITIVE NEWS OF THE DAY
The world’s largest offshore wind farm powered up…
Dogger Bank, which is set to be the biggest offshore wind farm on the planet when it’s completed in 2026, produced electricity for the first time this week.
The first of a planned 277 turbines began spinning 70 nautical miles (130km) off the coast of Yorkshire, with each turn of its blades generating enough clean energy to power the average home for two days.
The project will eventually produce 3.6 gigawatts of power – enough for 6m homes a year – and will deliver annual emissions savings equivalent to taking 1.5m cars off the road, say those behind it.
It’s being built as a joint venture between the UK’s SSE Renewables and Norwegian firms Equinor and Vårgrønn.
SSE chief executive Alistair Phillips-Davies hailed the switch-on a “landmark moment” for global offshore wind. “There’s been lots of talk about the need to build homegrown energy supplies, but we are taking action on a massive scale,” he said. “This is exactly how we should be responding to the energy crisis.”
CRYSTAL OF THE DAY
MANTRA OF THE WEEK
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.
Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu (Sanskrit: लोकः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु) is a Sanskrit mantra that often chanted at the conclusion of a yoga practice.
People say that this mantra is thousands of years old, but it is not in the Vedas, which is where many other well-known mantras are written down. Instead, it is thought that lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu is part of a Shanti mantra, which is a peace mantra.
Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu is sometimes said at the end of a puja, which is a thanksgiving ceremony, as a group offering. This mantra is used most often in modern times during kirtan or group chanting. Often this mantra acts as a group offering of happiness for the whole world.
