Kundalini Energy 101:
Kundalini, which means "coiled snake" in Sanskrit, refers to the energy that is coiled at the base of the spine and is frequently inactive. When it rises or awakens, it can generate a multitude of sensations and symptoms.
What is it:
Kundalini is regarded as a life-force energy, making it a significant internal power source. We all have it, but not everyone has had an "awakening" moment.
Initially, the study of kundalini involved both spiritual philosophy and energy physics. In the past, royalty would gather with kundalini masters to learn about spiritual visions and the kundalini's old scientific teachings. Kundalini was introduced to western society by Yogi Bhajan, who then developed it into the lovely practice it is today, combining ancient wisdom with contemporary usefulness and making it available to everyone.
Kundalini energy is the ultimate life-force energy. It is the source of our creative power, spiritual gifts, and divine feminine energy. Practicing Kundalini Yoga is used as a tool to expand consciousness and reach a state of lightness, joy, and boundless love. Kundalini pulls the energy that lies dormant at the base of our spine up to the crown of our heads, creating an upward flow of energy and balancing our chakras and energetic bodies.

Kundalini Awakening:
The how:
There are several techniques to activate Kundalini. For some, it may take many years of diligent work, while for others, it may just happen. The procedure is very personalized and often unexpected.
Awakening kundalini is achieved through a variety of sacred practices rooted in Hinduism. Traditionally, in India, yogis would cleanse and prepare for many years to safely experience a kundalini awakening.
Although it is stated that you have no influence over when or whether your kundalini energy wakes, there are several activities that can accompany you on your path and work to promote your awakening:
Shake your body and practice dancing
Practice tantra
Energy work
Exercise breath control and practice pranayama
Meditate regularly
Practice gratitude and live with an open heart
How it feels:
There can be numerous different signs that your kundalini is awakening. When we witness kundalini “symptoms, ” that energy is knocking on the door to get our attention and mindfulness so that we can make the changes in our soul solicitations. When that happens, we're suitable to come who we're meant to be and live our loftiest calling. Some of these symptoms include.
Experiencing a heightened awareness of intuition
A deep sense of purpose and destiny
The urge to make life changes
Physical and emotional changes like sleep disturbances, anxiety, surges of energy, and shaking
Whatever symptoms you are experiencing, try not to fixate too much on whether or not it is kundalini and why it is there. Instead, focus on allowing the energy to move through you and working to heal any uncomfortable symptoms coming up on a holistic level. The less you resist these feelings, the quicker they will pass.
Kundalini Kriya:

Pose: Dead Bug Kriya
How to Do It: Roll over onto your back and push the block off to the side. Extend arms and legs straight up to the sky and shimmy them. Wiggle and jiggle your fingers, hands, arms, feet, and legs. Shake it all out. Here is the best part: Scream at the top of your lungs like you are having a temper tantrum while you are shimmying and shaking. Do this for 1 to 7 minutes. Relax in Savasana for a good 10 minutes after this.
Why It Works: This kriya is detoxifying because it is a full release. You are shaking out the last bits of that which is unwanted and unwelcome in your body and energy field. You are releasing each scream that you have previously swallowed. You are getting rid of whatever junk is still lingering.
