TODAY'S LEARNINGKundalini Energy (A Mini Guide)
The dormant spiritual force known as kundalini is frequently depicted as a coiling serpent at the base of the spine. In order to prevent prana energy from entering and rising through the center of the spine through the seven chakras, this serpent protects the entry of susumna, the central energy path. According to some, Kundalini is the unique expression of Shakti, the divine feminine energy. Shiva, who lives in the crown chakra, is the polar opponent and partner of Shakti. Yoga offers two primary routes to insight. The traditional route involves using interior focus, concentration, and meditation to calm the changes of the mind and prana. Uncoiling the snake and freeing Kundalini will allow Shakti and Shiva to be united by rising up the Susumna channel through all seven chakras is the tantric route.
Kundalini awakening results in the highest level of happiness. But unleashing Kundalini without sufficient planning can be disastrous. When such a potent source of energy is released into the body's systems, it can hurt people. Hatha yoga poses must be performed in the correct sequence to prepare the body and psyche for kundalini activation and release upwards. First, the energy channels (nadis) and physical body must be strengthened and purified through pranayama, meditation, and yoga postures (asanas). Second, by using mudras, yoga poses, and meditation, all seven chakras must be gradually aroused. Kundalini can only be securely awoken once the body and nadis are purified, the chakras are opened, and the seeker has control over body, respiration, and prana. Many yoga practices, including mantra, tapas, meditation, pranayama, mudra, shaktipat, and self-surrender, can activate kundalini.
As the kundalini travels through the body and the nervous system adapts to this dramatically increased mental energy, one can still experience negative affects during the activation. As a result, it is not advisable to awaken Kundalini without the direction of a knowledgeable instructor and the backing of a spiritual group.
The yogi's existence is totally transformed once the kundalini is awakened. You are not required to take this route all the way to the very end, though. Cleansing the energy paths, opening the chakras, and purging the body and mind all help to promote awareness, equilibrium, well-being, and inner serenity.
TOGETHER WITH BETTERHELPLearn to accept and love yourself
Life is hard. Let’s just admit that no one is living a perfect life.
We all have our hardships and struggles whether that be with family, friends, lovers, work, school—you name it. When life gets overwhelming, we tend to cope the best we can while suppressing our own need for healing. We tend to feel alone. I’m here to tell you that you’re not.
I began therapy after coming to terms with needing extra support and a perspective outside of just my friends, family, and my spiritual practice. And as I've gotten older, therapy has been key to maintaining a healthy mindset through career shifts, life changes, and grieving losses.
Not everyone has access to therapy and depending on where you live, your options might be extremely limited. What I love about BetterHelp is their expansive network of over 30,000 licensed therapists, so you can find the best one for you, who may not necessarily be in your hometown.
I know reaching out for help can be intimidating, but it is so important to put yourself first and get the support you deserve. We encourage everyone out there who needs it, to check out BetterHelp.

TODAY'S POSITIVE NEWS
To save a dog that had fallen 10 feet into an ice-covered pool and was stuck, it took patience, bribery, laughter, and a lot of arm strength.
On March 7, Michigan's Pound Buddies animal rescue got several "frantic" calls about a dog that was stuck in the old water filtering pond.
The pond was frozen over, but it was clear that water was moving over the ice. No one knew how long it would be before the 60-pound dog fell through.
The Muskegon Heights Fire Department came "within minutes" after Pound Buddies called them to help save the dog. Lieutenant John Kriger climbs over the wall and gives the dog a treat to get it to trust him.

YOGAPEDIAYoga Flow For Positive Mood
By combining stretches, core activation, and deep breathing, this sequence will release tension so you can boost your energy and restart your day like new.
AS YOU PRACTICE Allow yourself to pause and explore these heart- and hip-opening stretches as you build up to the peak pose, an exciting variation of Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose). This will help connect you to your core and root you down so you can expand outward with stability and strength. Meanwhile, breathe deeply throughout the sequence to further awaken your sense of vitality and inner purpose.
1. Tri Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana (ThreeLegged Downward-Facing Dog Pose) Begin with hands shoulder-width apart and feet hip-width apart. Actively reach your heels down as you lift your sitting bones up and elongate the spine. On a deep inhale, lift your right leg. Keep your shoulders squared.
2. Anjaneyasana (Low Lunge) Step your right foot forward and place your back knee down behind your hips. Place your hands onto your front knee, and sink your hips, drawing your belly away from your front thigh and pressing your shoulders back. Gently rock forward and back.
3. Ardha Ustrasana (Half Camel Pose) Turn to your left, pivoting your back shin. Place your left hand alongside your sacrum and your right hand on your front knee. Engage your core to lift your sternum, and elongate the inseam of your right leg.
4. Ardha Hanumanasana (Half Monkey God Pose) Turn toward your front leg, and straighten it. Lengthen your spine over your leg, with your fingertips on the floor. Bend your elbows (not your neck), and hinge from the hips to fold deeper. Keep your hips square.
5. Cat-Cow Pose Bring your right knee back in line with the left, coming to all fours. Inhale and lift your sternum, sitting bones, and chin. Exhale and tuck your chin, round your spine, and tuck your sitting bones. Breathe, and explore your fullest range of motion.
6. Tabletop, variation Extend your right arm forward and your left leg back. Keep your hips square to the mat by dialing your outer left hip down and your inner left thigh up. Engage your core, and elongate from fingertips to the sole of your foot. Hug your muscles toward the midline.
