TODAY'S LEARNING
Limiting Beliefs That Keep Us Stuck

1. I lack motivation.

Do you really, or are you burned out? This kind of burnout typically suggests that you are in a depleting and unsupportive setting. At this point, you could even begin to label yourself as "lazy."

In my case, the concept of making changes was exhausting because it took so much energy to get through the day and figure out where I was headed next.

Analyze the surroundings around you: Which individuals and circumstances are draining you? Do you sense assistance? Are you truly unmotivated, or are you simply exhausted?

2. I procrastinate too much.

Procrastination is a symptom, much like a fever, stomachache, or headache, and it usually boils down to one thing: fear.

For me, it was the fear of stepping away from the freedom I thought I had in a lifestyle with minimal attachments. It was also the dread of not knowing everything, of failing, and of choosing the incorrect course of action.

What is the cause of your procrastination? What fears do you have?

3. I don’t have time.

Lao Tzu once said, "Time is a created thing." "I don't have time" is equivalent to "I don't want to." It could be that you are genuinely resistant to change.

What parts of your current situation do you like, and how are they affecting your desire to move forward?

4. I don’t have enough resources.

Another way we allow ourselves to stay stuck is by concentrating on resources that are outside of us, such as money, credentials, or abilities. However, long-lasting transformation begins on the inside, with things like enthusiasm, energy, clarity, and willpower. Your exterior resources will inevitably develop as your interior resources do.

At the time, all of my internal resources were completely depleted, and as a result, I wasn’t using my external resources effectively or efficiently. I got more internally depleted as I observed my outside resources gradually disappear. Thus, a vicious loop resulted.

What is it about your exterior environment that depletes the inspiration, support, and vitality from your inside environment? Are you making efficient use of your outside resources?

5. It’s too late to change.

Focusing on some arbitrary time and date by which you’re supposed to have accomplished X, Y, and Z means neglecting to enjoy the amazing journey unfolding right in front of your eyes. Who, after all, set the timeline that dictates how you should live your life?

Do you impose an artificial deadline on yourself for when you should have completed tasks X, Y, and Z? Do you assess yourself against others? What aspects of your life would you truly like to improve, and what small measures can you take to get there?

 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY

The Sun enters Aquarius on January 20, 2024, and remains there until February 18, 2024. For those of us born on these dates, this sign is something we embody and express every day of our lives. We all get to explore the ethers of Aquarius over these weeks, regardless of when we were born or what sign our Sun is. We are able to perceive the world through its prism, experience it viscerally, and let it influence how our life force manifests itself.

Pluto enters Aquarius again on January 20, 2024. It will stay in this forward-looking sign until September 1, 2024, when it makes its final retrograde movement back into Capricorn during our lifetime. Pluto will rejoin Aquarius on November 19, 2024, and stay there for over two decades, until 2043.

POSITIVE NEWS OF THE DAY

The elephant population has risen steadily in southern Africa over the last 25 years, new analysis suggests.

Overall, the region saw a 0.16% annual increase in elephant numbers over the past quarter century, a study showed. That might seem like a small gain, but for a species hammered by poachers, it represents a victory for conservationists.

Elephant populations in isolated “fortress” parks showed high levels of growth. However, researchers said that “buffer zones”, where the animals coexist with humans, provided elephants with vital corridors between protected areas.

Prof Stuart Pimm, of Duke University in the US, who was involved in the research, told the Guardian: “We need to protect elephants, but we also need to connect them. We have fragmented the world and we need to stitch it back together again.”

Q&A

What advice can you give those of us looking for our life's purpose?

First of all, there’s never a point of arrival. You will never be able to claim, "I've arrived," because it simply doesn't exist. Everyone is eager to go where they're going. Like when your kids are on vacation and they can't stop asking, "Are we almost there?" That's life; we're practically there all the time. It sounds like a cliché, but I would say, pursue excellence and ignore success. You know, success is a by-product of the pursuit of excellence. Success is a journey, it’s the progressive realization of worthy goals. It needs to be done with kindness and love. It's essential to possess genuine self-worth, which implies being independent of other people's approval. Below is a beautiful guided meditation to help you find the answers you are looking for:
