TODAY'S LEARNINGLOVING MEDITATION
This loving-kindness meditation is a powerful way to center yourself in service to others. In this form of meditation, you internally repeat well wishes for yourself, your loved ones, and then for the larger population, including people, you feel challenged by.
These wishes traditionally go something like: May I feel at ease, May I feel happy, May you feel at ease, or May you feel happy. I like to use I am and You are at the beginning of each verse to ground the intention in action instead of a wish.
To begin the practice, silently repeat the phrases below, taking in each word so you can feel it in your heart.
I am happy. I am healthy. I am safe. I live with ease.
Then, think of someone you care for, and repeat the phrases below with them in mind. You are happy. You are healthy. You are safe. You are at ease. Next, think of someone you don’t know well, and repeat the phrases. Finally, direct the phrases at someone you have difficulty interacting with.
Close your meditation by sending these intentions to all beings—including yourself— everywhere. Be gentle with yourself as you move through the process of setting and working toward intentions. Not meeting your goals by next January doesn’t equal failure.
WEEKLY ASTROLOGY
On March 16, 2023, Venus will enter Taurus. Both possess a profound respect for the human body, as well as for goodness, creativity, joy, and receptivity. They tend to move at a pace that is supportive, that respects feelings, and that lets feelings lead them, whether that means to slow down or dive in.
This cosmic pairing can see and enjoy the beauty and value in the world around us. Venus in Taurus makes us aware of our deep sense of self-worth, which gives us the ability to see beauty and accept gifts with ease.
In the midst of all these gifts, you are asked to look at yourself with a heart full of gratitude and to give back to yourself in a way that supports your worth. Even though the shift in the world is exciting and full of change, it also gives you the chance to integrate who you are becoming by going back to the basics of how you take care of yourself.

POSITIVE NEWS OF THE DAY
Scientists have found an enzyme that acts like a "natural battery." This enzyme could be the holy grail of clean energy because it could make electricity out of thin air.
A study team at Australia's Monash University collected the enzyme, called Huc, from a common soil bacteria.
They found that it uses small amounts of hydrogen from the air to make an electrical current, which the bacteria use as a source of energy to help them live in harsh places like volcanic craters and deep oceans.
Scientists think that the enzyme could be used at first to power small electronics with air or small amounts of hydrogen. In theory, adding more hydrogen would make the car have more speed.
"Once we make enough Huc, we can use it to make clean energy in any way we want," said Dr. Rhys Grinter, who is in charge of the project.

MEDITATION 101
Use Sound To Focus Your Mind: Mantra yoga uses a particular sound, phrase, or affirmation (such as Sat Nam), that, when repeated, serves as a focal point for the mind. The word mantra comes from man, which means “to think,” and tra, which suggests “instrumentality.” Chanting, an extension of mantra yoga, is a way of entering into meditation that involves both rhythm and pitch. Om namah shivaya is a popular Hindu mantra that can be chanted to send adoration to Shiva, and the sound vibration is said to be an articulation of your inner Self. Dating back to Vedic times, Indian chanting comes out of a tradition that believes in the creative power of sound and its potential to transport us to an expanded state of awareness.
MANTRA OF THE WEEKMahamrityunjaya Mantra
om tryambakam yajāmaheoṃ, sugandhim puṣṭivardhanam, urvā rukamiva bandhanān, mṛtyu mukṣīya mā’mṛtāt
"I worship that fragrant Shiva of three eyes, the one who nourishes all living entities.
May he help us sever our bondage with samsara by making us realise that we are never separated from our immortal nature."
The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, which is devoted to Lord Shiva, is thought to possess amazing healing abilities. It is the strongest Mantra and may even defeat death, according to the Rigveda. It is also known as the Rudra Mantra, with Rudra denoting Lord Shiva's wrathful form.
It is thought that regular chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra can help one ward against bad spirits as well as major illnesses, premature death, and fatal diseases.
You can sing the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra as part of your daily meditation. The Brahma Muhurta is the ideal moment to recite it. Reciting this mantra can enable you to access your healing potential while doing yoga, meditation, or pranayama because Lord Shiva is also known as Adi Yogi, or the first yogi.
