TODAY'S LEARNING
Manifest Your Dream Life

In essence, manifestation is the process of attracting something real into your life through attraction and belief; in other words, if you believe it, it will happen. However, willpower and optimistic thoughts are only two components of manifestation. Manifesting is making everything you want to feel and experience a reality...via your thoughts, actions, beliefs, and emotions.

To start manifesting, be clear about your goals.

Although everyone approaches manifestation in a different way, you need to be completely clear on your goals in the beginning—possibly more than anything else. You are the only one who dreams your dreams, so whether it's a new partner and a healthy relationship, or a better job, know it and own it.

Making your objective as explicit as you can is crucial no matter what you want. The more clear and concise, the better. Instead of saying, "I want to meet my soul mate," for instance, create a thorough picture of what that person would resemble (consider their traits, qualities, values, etc.).

Once you’ve set your intention, ask for what you want—and write it down on paper.

You must make a request to the universe once you have identified your precise hopes, dreams, and objectives. You can do this in a number of ways, including through prayer, meditation, visualization, saying your goals out loud, creating a vision board, or using a "future box," which is a box filled with images of the things you want to manifest, but you must be very clear in what you desire.

And start working toward your goals.

According to Gabrielle Bernstein, author of Super Attractor and The Universe Has Your Back, “Manifesting is also known as co-creating because it’s a collaboration between you and the universe.” Because of this, understanding what you want is just half the battle—taking action is necessary to see results. Spend some time planning the measures you can take on your own to accomplish your goals, and then include them into your daily routine. If you wish to make a significant career move, for instance, start networking with professionals in your new industry and prepare for job interviews.

The next step is to be mindful of—and thankful for—what you receive.

Even if you might not get everything you want in the time or order you want, you should still accept and appreciate what you do get, no matter how big or tiny it might be.

Consider keeping a gratitude notebook as a way to achieve this. Before you go to sleep, take five to ten minutes to write down a few things for which you are grateful for and anything that occurred throughout the day that helped you get closer to your goal. Perhaps you want to save enough money for retirement and get a call from your cable company about a way to cut your monthly rate, or you find an educational podcast that gives you an idea for a side business that will earn you money.

And let go of any resistance and limiting beliefs.

You must get rid of any barriers or limiting ideas that may obscure your vision in addition to altering your thinking and habits, such as fear and critical self-talk. It's a tape that many people are listening to: "Telling yourself you're not good enough, you're not worthy enough, you're not smart enough, you're not enough."

If you're not aware of it, you'll wind up acting according to that belief system rather than what you know or desire to be true for yourself. Because so much of longing involves occupying the absence of what you do have, it is impossible to become what you desire.

It's crucial to first pinpoint your limiting thoughts in order to overcome them. To do this, ask yourself: What are the beliefs I have about myself that may be inhibiting my progress? Write down your answers. Cross out the limiting thoughts and replace them with your new affirmations. Write down your responses, and then replace any unfavorable emotions with favorable ones. If your limiting belief is ‘I am incomplete without a man,’ reverse it with ‘I am complete as I am.’ If your limiting belief is ‘I'm not good enough,’ reverse it with ‘I am wonderful as I am today.’”

TODAY'S POSITIVE NEWS

Soon, bison will be able to traverse southern England with the aid of their very own bridges.

An important step for the rewilding campaign was reached last year when the animals were returned to a conservation reserve in Kent. Now there are plans to build a number of hoof-friendly overpasses to increase their range.

Animal bridges are becoming more and more popular as a temporary solution for tying together scattered wildlife habitats.

ZEN STORY

A student went to see his meditation teacher and said, “My situation is horrible! I feel so distracted most of the time, my legs ache, or I’m repeatedly falling asleep. It’s terrible.”

Said the teacher matter-of-factly: “That’s okay. It will pass.”

A week later, the student returned to his teacher. “My meditation is wonderful! I feel so ecstatically joyous and alive! Now I understand everything!”

The teacher told him: “That’s okay. It will pass.”

YOGAPEDIA
Gate Pose (Parighasana)

What is Gate Pose?

Gate pose, or parighasana in Sanskrit, is an important side-bending posture that builds spinal flexibility. From a kneeling posture, one leg is stretched out to the side. The yogi reaches the opposite arm overhead and toward the extended leg, opening the side body.

Instructions

Begin kneeling.

Exhale and stretch the right leg out to the side.

Inhale and reach the arms out to the sides.

Exhale and reach the left arm up, overhead and to the right, opening the side body. Rest the right hand on the right leg.

Breathe while holding the pose. Inhale and return to center. Change sides.
