Mantra Chanting
The mind can be a powerful tool if we know how to harness its powers. A well-trained mind is like a blazing sun: sure of itself, happy, focused, and fulfilled. A weak mind, on the other hand, is unconfident, downcast, disorganized, and nervous. When your focus is single-minded, anything is possible. But we have to make the necessary effort for that.
Imagine a beautiful statue covered with thick layers of ice. To see the statue's splendor, one must make a significant effort to scrape the ice layer by layer. Our mind is like a hidden statue that has layers of unhealthy habits and misconceptions covering it. Mantra aids in cutting through these layers. The mantra gives the mind a single-minded focus through its vibrations.
Even our body organs can be penetrated by sound. Chanting mantras opens a doorway to the innermost parts of our existence. We get deeper as we chant more. But for this experience, you must know the gate’s key: proper chanting of the mantra with the right preparation.
The first step is choosing the right mantra. Pick one that fits with your religion or philosophy or that you prefer. It makes no difference how lengthy or how short the chant is. Once you've decided on a mantra, don't change it until you've resolved to recite it for a predetermined number of days. If you're unsure which mantra to use, go with OM because it is the beginning of all mantras.
The second step is choosing the spot for practice. Choose a location where you can chant frequently. It ought to be tidy and preferably silent. You can set flowers, a candle, and some incense on it to sanctify it. This will foster a favorable environment. You can also hang a picture of your spiritual guide if you like. Why? Your mind will be inspired by the master's image.
The next step is to sit still and breathe deeply for a few minutes. both a long, gentle inhale and long, gentle exhale. This will lessen the stream of thoughts and enable the mind to slow down. You are then prepared to begin chanting the mantra. It could be beneficial to chant along with a musical recording of a mantra being chanted at first. The relaxing effects of the enjoyable music will help you maintain mental clarity. Chanting along with a recording is initially simpler than solo chanting. But keep in mind that the chant will only work if your mind is clear and not racing with a million different ideas.
Watch the tremors in your chest and forehead as you chant. Try to embrace the sound, enjoy it, and live in the moment. Point your gaze slightly in the direction of the middle of your brows while keeping your eyes closed. There should be no strain in your body or head; feel at rest.
Initially, you will tend to drift away from the mantra and get involved in all sorts of thoughts. It’s okay; whenever you realize you have drifted away from the mantra, bring the attention back to the mantra. Chanting for a longer amount of time will be considerably more beneficial because our minds require time to unwind. With many repetitions, you'll notice that the mind easily centers on the mantra. There comes a time when the mind is completely consumed by the chanting and the tongue becomes mute. This is the gateway to beautiful experiences of the inner realm. Enjoy, unwind, and go within.

The Prime Minister of the Tang Dynasty was a national hero for his success as both a statesman and military leader. But despite his fame, power, and wealth, he considered himself a humble and devout Buddhist. Often he visited his favorite Zen master to study under him, and they seemed to get along very well. The fact that he was prime minister apparently had no effect on their relationship, which seemed to be simply one of a revered master and respectful student.
One day, during his usual visit, the Prime Minister asked the master, "Your Reverence, what is egotism according to Buddhism?" The master's face turned red, and in a very condescending and insulting tone of voice, he shot back, "What kind of stupid question is that!?"
This unexpected response so shocked the Prime Minister that he became sullen and angry. The Zen master then smiled and said, "THIS, Your Excellency, is egotism."

What is Equestrian Pose?
Equestrian pose, or ashwa sanchalanasana, is a lunge posture that is the fourth pose in the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskara) sequence. With the front leg bent and back leg outstretched, the spine is elongated.
Instructions
From standing forward bend pose, step your right foot far back with an inhale.
At the same time, bend your left knee and align it over the left ankle.
Rise onto your fingertips and lengthen your spine.
Breathe while holding the pose.
