TODAY'S LEARNING
Mindful Breathing

A key component of mindfulness, the process of developing non-judgmental awareness of the present moment, is paying attention to the breath and the intention of the breath. Techniques for mindful breathing can help you stay in the moment, have an impact on your thoughts and emotions, and encourage calmness (both mentally and physically).

Deep Breathing

Here, you can begin to practice deepening your breath in order to achieve your desired results. Deep breathing, also called belly breathing or diaphragmatic breathing, is exactly what it sounds like and can help reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. It helps to deactivate the stress response and activate the "rest and digest" state by inhaling deeply into the belly and exhaling fully.

Stressed? Overwhelmed? Panicked? Take a few deliberate minutes to relax and breathe deeply (yet gently), as this will send a message to your brain that everything is fine.

2-4 Breathing

This kind of breath work entails lengthening the exhalation so that it exceeds the inhalation. Emphasizing the exhale is intended to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which acts as our sympathetic nervous system's calming counterbalance when we are under stress. The PNS slows breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and metabolism while the SNS speeds up heartbeat, breathing, and blood flow.

Promote serious relaxation with a 2-4 breathing exercise when your stress response is hyperactive (and who isn't? ): Take two counts in and then four counts out right away.

Energizing Breaths

You can harness the breath to perk yourself up, too. With this breathing technique, which is based on a Kundalini yoga technique called segmented breathing, you can revitalize your mind, increase energy, and become more alert when you're feeling drowsy. Fill the lungs with air in four equal, but distinct segments, and then completely empty them with one long, smooth exhalation (do this three or four times).

 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY

This week brings us Venus in Leo: Venus typically stays in each zodiac sign for about 20 days, but we are fortunate to have the start of a three-month stay. Due to the upcoming Venus retrograde in July, this residence will last longer than usual, giving us the chance to fully embrace the sign's invitations and let them influence our lives, sense of who we are, and how we interact with the outside world.

Venus represents our sense of self-worth and inherent value in astrology. She embodies all of the qualities of fertility, magnetism, prosperity, love, and beauty. She embodies, attracts, and arouses desire. She gives an explanation of what we find enjoyable, lovely, and deserving of our time, effort, and energy. We achieve a greater sense of individuation, self-definition, fulfillment, and settling into our place in the world through this process of definition. Venus doesn't draw to herself what she wants because she lacks it. Instead, she lives up to her worthiness and is drawn to by everyone, effortlessly and with pleasure.

This week sparks the invitation to own what matters to you and what fulfills you. It challenges you to focus on the things that you know are deserving of your value, attention, energy, and life force—the things that you yearn for from the bottom of your heart and the passions that blaze through you like fire and stars. These passions feed off of you as you feed into them.

POSITIVE NEWS OF THE DAY

This week, the first female Arab astronaut in history returned to Earth without incident following a remarkable 10-day mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Saudi Arabian Rayyanah Barnawi splashed down in Florida with fellow Saudi rocketman Ali Al-Qarni. The pair traveled to the ISS on a ship provided by Elon Musk's Space X as part of a privately funded mission.

Barnawi, who has a decade of experience in breast cancer research, tweeted regular updates while carrying out experiments on human immune cells in microgravity.

She tweeted an emotional farewell on Tuesday from the space station, saying: "Every story has an end, but this is just the start of a new era for our nation and our region. I want to thank everyone who has supported us.

CRYSTAL OF THE DAY

LEARN SANSKRIT
Chitta (chih -thah)

Chitta or citta means "consciousness." It derives from the root word cit, which means "to perceive." It is everything that is perceived and everything that can be perceived. Consciousness is the container for all perceivable things.

MANTRA OF THE WEEK
Om Mantra

OM is not just a sound but the wave of the Universe. Om is said to be the first sound to be produced in the Universe, and thus chanting OM is supposed to bring many benefits to the native. The sound OM doesn’t have a meaning attached to it. What we mean is that just like every other word, say a flower or mountain, etc. has a meaning, one can’t associate a certain definition to the word OM. The meaning of “OM” (ॐ) is different for each and every one of us. Chanting the Om mantra in astrology is a sacred practice that helps the body and mind to feel energised and positive. The sound of Om is not only considered sacred in Hinduism but also holds a prominent place in other religions such as Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. As per these religions, the OM mantra connects all the individuals on the planet with the Universe or the supreme power that guides it.
