RADIANT SKIN

The health of our skin goes a lot deeper than just the products we use and how we take care of it externally. Skincare is what we put in our bodies, on our bodies, and how well we take care of our overall health and well-being.

Morning Warm Water with Lemon

Starting the day off right by igniting our digestive fire in the morning helps the body get ready to effectively remove and digest throughout the day. We can start the day hydrated by drinking warm water with lemon in the morning, which also helps to increase our agni. Healthy and bright skin is aided by a sound digestive system and adequate hydration. Heat 8 ounces of water and squeeze a lemon into it as you wake up. Drink and relish.

Abhyanga

Abhyanga is a full-body Ayurvedic massage using heated oil. It improves the lymphatic system, enhances skin brightness, and balances the doshas, assisting in proper cleansing. Abhyanga is applying heated oil to the body and massaging it in a lengthy, heart-directed motion for 15 to 20 minutes.

It's the perfect time to really nourish yourself, connect with your body, and work on enhancing the texture, tone, and radiance of your skin. After, take a warm shower, washing the oil off and being careful not to use too much soap. Dry off, then take pleasure in the relaxing and nourishing effects of your self-massage.

Chickpea Scrub

Ayurvedic tradition has traditionally utilized chickpea flour to promote healthy skin. Benefits of detoxification, increased circulation, and mild exfoliation are offered by chickpea flour. It is particularly effective for oily, kapha-type skin when it comes to washing and exfoliating the skin.

With or without the addition of other powdered herbs like licorice, neem, or rose, chickpea flour can be used as a mild exfoliating cleanser. Before rinsing and drying, dampen your face and gently scrub the flour into the skin for a few seconds. To avoid over-drying, apply a nutritious face oil or moisturizer after.

4 Yoga Asanas To Keep You Slim During The Holiday Season

Most people expect to gain some weight during the holidays. It’s commonly accepted that people expect to gain an average of five or more pounds between Halloween and New Year’s Day. In reality, the average weight gain during this period is just under one pound, but it’s still enough to cause anxiety and discouragement for anyone on a weight loss journey during the holidays.  Yoga has benefited many people in losing weight in a healthy way. Here are some simple poses that you can use during the holidays:

Chaturanga Dandasana – Plank Pose

Chaturanga dandasana is the best way to strengthen your core. As simple as it looks, its benefits are immense. It is only when you are in the pose that you start to feel its intensity on your abdominal muscles.

Virabhadrasana – Warrior Pose

Toning your thighs and shoulders, as well as improving your concentration has become more accessible and interesting with the Warrior II pose. The more you hold that pose, the better the results you gain. With just a few minutes of Virabhadrasana, you will get tighter quads.

Trikonasana – Triangle pose

The trikonasana helps to improve digestion as well as reduce the fat deposited in the belly & waist. It stimulates and improves blood circulation in the entire body. The lateral motion of this asana helps you burn more fat from the waist and build more muscles in the thighs and hamstrings.

Though this pose does not make your muscles shake as others do, it does give you the benefit that other asanas do. It also improves balance & concentration.

Adho Mukha Svanasana – Downward Dog pose

Adho Mukha Svanasana tones your whole body with a little extra attention to specific muscles.

It helps to strengthen your arms, thighs, hamstring and back. Holding this pose and concentrating on your breathing engages your muscles and tones them, as well as improves your concentration and blood circulation.
