ADVICE:
Daily Small Comforts
Everyone occasionally requires comfort. When we feel worn out, emotionally spent, or simply under attack by the outside world.
On these days, I try to recognize my physical, mental, and emotional state, and I ask myself what I need.
For most of us, the first step is simply noticing. We frequently aren't aware of when we're feeling worn out or a little battered by life. We just keep pushing forward while concentrating on what we believe we should be doing. Even though it may seem necessary, acting out of necessity when we're exhausted or feeling confronted is rarely beneficial.
So if we notice … we might pause. Take a few breaths. Recheck our own situation. What do I need?
For me, it's occasionally a little rest. I’ll take a nap. I give myself a lovely small comfort like this, and I feel so much better afterward.
I want to promote little comforts today. There are many more, but a nap is an excellent one.
Here are a few of my preferred little comforts:
A minute of breathing and being present to what we’re feeling.
A luxurious stretch.
Piping a cup of tea.
A steamy shower.
A peaceful nature stroll.
A few berries or some other scrumptious fruit.
A hug from a loved one.
A brief period of meditation.
A spoonful of peanut butter.
Curling up with a good book.
A massage.
Sitting in a hot tub.
Sitting next to someone while enjoying music.
Consuming a few squares of dark chocolate.
What are some of yours?
As we discuss little comforts, I should make a few crucial points:
First off, this isn't about going overboard; it's about little conveniences. While it might seem weird to talk about overdoing comforts, for many of us, we can definitely overindulge to a point approaching addiction. For instance, if you appreciate the tiny comfort of a glass of wine, you can go overboard and think you must drink it every time you're anxious. The requirement may then increase to five glasses of wine each day. The same effect can occur when using any substance (including pot, cigarettes, and so forth), when eating when watching TV or playing video games, and so forth. There is nothing wrong with any of them; just utilize them in moderation and seek solace from a variety of sources, rather than depending solely on one thing.
Second, I think it's important to push through discomfort when we can. This isn't about constant comfort. That causes a withdrawal from life. I'm a huge believer in embracing all aspects of life, including the uncomfortable ones. That is how we advance. Having said that, we can't always do that. We occasionally require some care, refueling, and revitalization. Sometimes we require solace. It's not an all-or-nothing situation; we may discover the balance that works for us.
Third: Let go of guilt. Despite what I said in the first two, this is not about “guilty pleasures,” because comforts when we need them are healthy and wonderful. Try to fully allow yourself to appreciate these little joys.
Fourth, genuinely enjoy them and be present. If you are preoccupied on your phone, eating a dessert won't do you any good. Allow yourself to really appreciate and discover the magic and pleasure in little comforts.
I hope you’ll give yourself permission to take care of yourself when you need it. Here's to enjoying life's little pleasures!

POSITIVE NEWS OF THE DAY
Indian authorities who spoke with Reuters claim that since 2009, their country has cut their greenhouse gas emissions by one-third.
The climate triumph was achieved by increased renewable energy production and increased forest cover, leaving the world’s-most populous country on track to meet all her current emissions targets.
The term "emissions intensity" used in the report to describe the measurement of emissions refers to the ratio of greenhouse gas emissions to GDP.
The third official report filed to the UN's Convention on Climate Change claims that India has boosted its annual emissions reductions from roughly 1.5% in the previous period of 2014 to 2016 to 3% annually in the period 2016 to 2019.
According to India's 2019 State of the Forest report, between 2017 and 2019, the country's forest and tree cover rose by 2,000 square miles. This is said to have added 42.6 million tonnes of carbon to the total amount of carbon stored in India's soils.
DID YOU KNOW?
Zen is not a philosophy or a religion. Zen tries to free the mind from the slavery of words and the constriction of logic. Zen in its essence is the art of seeing into the nature of one's own being, and it points the way from bondage to freedom. Zen is meditation.

Camel Pose (Ustrasana)
What is Camel Pose?
Camel pose, or ustrasana, is a beginner's backbend that opens the chest. From a kneeling position, the spine and head are arched back while the hands rest on the heels. Camel pose both stretches the back and improves posture.
Instructions
Start in a kneeling position with your knees as wide as your hips. Tuck your toes under.
Exhale and lean back. Rest your hands on your heels. Keep your hips over your knees.
Breathe normally while holding the pose.
